Kyle Kiser – Founder of Clarity Language Access, LLC / American Sign Language Professor

My name is Kyle Kiser and I am a proud member of the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing community in Shelby, NC. I’m also an active ally who holds an MS degree in Deaf Studies & Deaf Education, as well as a BA degree in American Sign Language. I have a strong passion for teaching ASL, Deaf History, and ASL Linguistics in addition to raising awareness in regard to the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing community, our culture, and rights.

For many years, I had to advocate for myself to get the appropriate accommodations I needed so that I could learn and communicate equally with my hearing peers. Growing up without communication access was a difficult challenge that I believe no one should ever have to experience. Upon completing my college education, my first objective was to find a job in the educational or health and human services field. My intuition was clear to me. I had the desire to educate students, families, and the community about communication access rights pertaining to the Deaf & Hearing communities at large.

I landed a job with the North Carolina Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing as a Communication Accessibility Consultant for the southeastern part of North Carolina where service is provided in twelve counties. During my time there, I gained a wealth of knowledge about ADA laws, interpreting rights, general accessibility, and technology accessibility. Once I completed my MS degree with many years of experience as an ASL/Interpreter Instructor, I knew it was my destiny to open up a business built around my passion.

In June of 2015, Clarity Language Access, LLC (CLA) was born with a team of only two employees. Our agency went on to provide ASL & Spanish interpreting services in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. In September of 2020, our agency grew even more to begin providing these ASL & Spanish interpreting services on a nationwide scale. We also started providing interpreting services for up to 200 languages in addition to video remote & telephonic interpreting services for all of our clients. This was in an effort to further assist the members of our community in providing a message that can be both CLEAR and UNDERSTOOD.

We are both appreciative of and grateful for our amazing, highly-qualified American Sign Language and foreign language interpreting team members. Our goal as a team is to ensure all parties are 100% satisfied with our services- for both you and your client’s needs. Our team strives to remain transparent to our customers and the community at large. We guarantee we will be there for you every step of the way as you use our interpreting and resource services.
